The Private Home Child Caregiver is responsible for offering attentive, nurturing, and safe care for children in a private home environment. This role includes planning and engaging in educational and recreational activities, preparing meals, and managing daily routines to support the well-being and development of the children in their care.

Work Setting:
- On-site work is required; remote options are not available.
- Work will take place in the employer’s home.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one care and supervision for children in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Create and implement age-appropriate activities to promote learning, creativity, and physical development.
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks according to dietary guidelines and family preferences.
- Assist with homework and educational tasks, fostering a love for learning.
- Maintain a consistent daily routine, including scheduling nap times, playtime, and outings.
- Communicate regularly with parents about the children’s progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Ensure a clean and organized living space for the children, including tidying play areas and children’s rooms.
- Transport children to and from school, extracurricular activities, and appointments as needed.
- Provide support with personal hygiene and dressing as necessary.
- Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure the well-being of the children.
Tasks:
- Change diapers.
- Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents.
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
- Travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping tasks.
- Wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens.
- Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children.
- Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.
- Organize activities such as games and outings for children.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
- Prepare infants and children for rest periods.
- Supervise and care for children.
- Take children to and from school and appointments.
- Attend to the emotional well-being of children.
Experience and Specialization:
- Ability to supervise and care for a multi-aged group of children.
Additional Information:
- Security and Safety: Criminal record check required.
- Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available; travel expenses will be covered by the employer.
- Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in childcare, babysitting, or a related field is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and a nurturing personality.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license may be required.
