Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Driving: Operate trucks safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and Unload: Secure cargo and follow proper loading and unloading procedures to prevent damage.
- Route Planning: Optimize delivery routes and schedules, taking into account traffic conditions and regulations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and maintenance on the truck, reporting mechanical issues and ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members about delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transport.
- Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and company policies, especially those related to hazardous materials, if applicable.
Tasks:
- Provide professional customer service
- Load and unload goods
- Operate straight or articulated trucks for transporting goods and materials
- Oversee vehicle conditions, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
- Secure cargo with tarps and ensure safety
Credentials:
- Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses:
- Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks)
- Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
- Experience and Specialization:
- Familiarity with documentation procedures
- Knowledge of accident or incident reporting
- Proficient in maintaining driver logbooks
- Experience with inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
- Ability to handle maintenance and repair reports
- Completion of trip reports

Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or transportation is a plus.
Experience:
Previous experience as a truck driver is preferred, along with a clean driving record.
